My silk garment shows creases or ripples after unpackingUpdated 4 hours ago
Silk is a delicate and natural fibre. When folded for shipping, it may temporarily show creases, slight stretching, or light rippling where the fabric has been pressed during transport.
This is not a fabric defect. It is a normal characteristic of silk after being folded and packed.
How to remove fold marks from silk
The fabric will usually relax and return to its smooth surface with gentle treatment.
Recommended method: Steaming
Use a handheld steamer, or
Hang the garment in a steamy bathroom.
Steam allows the silk fibres to relax naturally without pressure.
If using an iron:
Select the silk or low heat setting.
Always use steam.
Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the silk.
Do not press directly onto the fabric without protection.
Avoid high heat and avoid ironing dry silk.
After steaming or gentle ironing, the fabric should settle and regain its smooth appearance.
If the garment does not improve after steaming, please contact customer service and include photos for further assistance.
